Custom Rings to Extensive Production Runs

We serve a wide range of projects, from large-scale production runs to small-scale runs or custom orders, ensuring that British casting is available to everyone.

Custom rings are made with the same exacting attention to detail that we provide larger purchases. This gives you the chance to produce a line of hand-carved waxes, CAD renders, and master models that are unique to your company.

Our complete menu of offerings consists of:

  • Finest quality casting in every precious metal;
  • Porosity-free casting using the best alloys on the market;
  • 5-hour, same-day casting;
  • CAD design from hand drawings or pictures;
  • Photo-realistic renders for approval;
  • Rapid prototyping at the finest resolution;
  • Vulcanised rubber or cold silicone moulding for production;
  • Vacuum wax injection for accuracy;
  • Laser welding and repair service;
  • Mass-finishing and polishing service;
  • Diamond setting;
  • Assembling pieces;
  • Rhodium and gold plating services.

Same-Day Casting Excellence

We are proud of our same-day casting service, which offers the fastest, most effective, and highest-quality casting available in the UK. The completed casting is available for pickup or courier delivery by 3:00 pm, provided we have your wax by 9:30 am.

Our skilled casting team accomplishes this by employing cutting-edge investment powder and furace procedures to compress the traditional overnight burnout process, resulting in a five-hour casting timescale.

Alloys

By alloying all our precious metals in-house, including 9ct, 10ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct gold, Fairtrade gold, platinum and palladium, we can control the quality and offer our customers a guaranteed product with our personal seal of approval.

Hockley Mint also specialises in custom alloys and nuanced colours that can be adapted to your specific jewellery requirements and customer specific alloys can be made.

Moulding Options

Our skilled moulding team crafts moulds from metal masters, resin, wax, and physical objects. Vulcanised rubber is used in our regular moulding process, and it's ideal for replicating metal master models or completed jewellery. Our cold mould service is advised for delicate objects because it uses a vulcanizing process that needs pressure and heat.

We may return your moulds to you with your castings, or we can store them securely on-site in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Choosing on-site storage enables you to quickly repeat manufacturing runs according to your schedule.

Using the Expertise of Merrell Casting

Merrell Casting logo

Our casting services provider, Merrell Casting, is a Hockley Mint subsidiary that is located in the centre of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Both organisations have a common managing director and work closely together.

The Merrell family's first generation set out to create a specialty casting business in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter in 1953. Their goal was to provide the best British workmanship possible in casting, polishing jewellery, alloying precious metals, and providing bespoke services.

We've made significant investments in state-of-the-art technology over the last ten years to maintain Merrell Casting's standing as a top manufacturer. The business is still family-owned and employs a committed and knowledgeable staff.
